game rates are per ref
-2 refs preferred (1 man only if partner not available), 3 refs for playoff or high level game. -Double Headers utilize single game rates.
-GLLOA Administration / Assignment Fee 10% of total officials fees invoiced by GLLOA to school at end of season.
-Home schools are responsible for game fees throughout playoffs, exception: Championship and All-Star games paid by IHSLA.
UNIQUE SITUATIONS…..
1) Referees arrive at game but no game is played - Referee paid the amount owed him for that game.
2) Game has started but cancelled due to the weather - Referee paid the amount owed him for that game
Some schools will use a voucher system to pay the officials working the boys lacrosse games this Spring while other schools will pay the official with a check or cash at the game. The official working the game must know how the home team pays the official.

ASSIGNMENTS
The strategy is for everyone to enter their availability on Assign By Web ("ABW")
www.assignbyweb.com/glloa Hank and John Vetter assigns games, games published, officials accept/reject games.
- Everyone who is interested refereeing lacrosse will no doubt will work because the game needs every official - officials must contact the assignor to work out their schedule - do not expect Hank to contact you because there are too many for him to do that.
- ABW will be used more and more to inform officials of their assignments although the onus will be on every one to call Hank Caldwell (847/825-7334).
Process:
- Everyone should let Hank know when they are available - phone or fax Hank
- Hank will assign officials to games
- Games will be posted on ABW
- Officials MUST accept/reject the games on ABW
TO DO'S
- Sign on to ABW and click on availability and click on dates when you are not available - NOTE: if you are available any day, please mark one day you are not available (March 30, for example), and mark yourself not available. If nothing is entered I am not sure if you are available all the time or have not signed at all.
- Review ABW regularly and accept/reject assignments
-
Accept/Decline Assignments
- ABW - Master Schedule - Full Schedule shows all the games in the high school schedule
- ABW - Master Schedule - Your assignments - accept assignments or decline assignments - MUST be done before the game is played otherwise the pay program won't run well and it may affect your pay
Cancellation Process:
- Coaches notify Hank at least 3 hours before game with Hank contacting the assigned officials shortly thereafter
- If you have some concerns about the game, you can call the school to confirm game is on - coach contact information is on
www.assignbyweb.com/glloa in the Contact Us Section
This POSITION PAPER details the recent statistics of the growth of games and the population of officials supporting high school lacrosse. |
